After a week of anticipation for the MASSOC Ball, the day finally came! After 45 mins of pure cold-bath outside St Luke's Hospital in Bradford on Friday - the bus din come for us, he thought there wasn't anyone to be picked up at St Luke's, I had another sinus attack, the third time in a month. Thought of hitting the Old Bar for St Patrick's Day on Friday night, but the plan went down the drain.
Themed F.O.O.T.ball (forever own our time ball), everyone was looking posh and elegantly dressed. The banqueting suite was decorated accordingly plus a dance floor! Woohoo! Dinner was great, the games were fun especially when I brought home 2 prizes - thanks for ke-muka-tembok-an myself First prize for being hysterically dragged on Epul's back (which he din even realise) and second one for being jumpy wen looking for the other person in the room with the same footballer's label.
William and Chrissie were crowned king and queen of the ball. Dance floor was finally opened at around 11.30 pm and we finally got home at about 1 am. Nothing could stop me going - although I had the feeling of having raised intracranial pressure+berry aneurysm+other major head complications! I believed it was sinus attack anyway.

A Day in Oxford
In pictures, the town looked historical and classical, too good to be true. However, honestly I do not ever want to live there, too depressing for me. Favourite spot in Oxford was Alice in Wonderland shop, who would have guessed Lewis Carroll was a Maths professor in Christ Church, which I conviniently did not go into, out of no interest
Another bloody cold day complete with not-at-all breezy wind.

Stonehenge, Bath & Swindon
A weekend trip to Stonehenge, Bath and staying the night at Goddard Arms Hotel in Swindon. Travel time was very long, (aching butts) but I killed time reading The Last Juror by John Grisham, which was finished by Sunday. Being in a bus with people who speak a language I barely understand, I decided to plug in the good old earphones and got the MP3s on full blast, page after page of The Last Juror. By 12 in the afternoon, the Stonehenge was in sight. It was peculiar, believed to be left by the Romans or extraterrestrial creatures. The day was sunny but extremely windy, so it was rather cold to be outdoors.
In Bath we walked around town and went to visit The Roman's Bath, wondered what was the fascination about a bath, maybe because it was Roman's ! The experience would be much valued by people with architectural worship, but not really by me, who was too lazy to read the information poster or listen to the audio guide given. Entry fee was expensive, btw.
Hotel room was great, dinner was long but nevertheless exceptionally good, being a 3-star hotel. By 10.40 I left Rachel watching Nicholas Cage as Captain Antonio Corelli while I soared to dreamland where a boy whom I missed was there.

Volendam-Marken-Amsterdam City
We went on a bus tour to the outskirt of Holland. Holland is a flat land, no hills and most of the land is below sea level, almost 10 feet at particular places though many are below 3 feet. On the way to Volendam we stopped at Zaas Schans, windmill village where there is also a cheesefarm and clogmaker. We were shown how clogs were made by hand in the past and are produced by machine now. Then off to another cheesefarm that was a lot bigger than the one in Zaas Schans that could accomodate all of us. Although the place smelt weird, the cheese...yum yum...all the flavours in the world. I didn't like the goat's cheese however, definitely not a goatperson. Then next stop Volendam, fishing village though now they rely on tourism...cet. I love water! and the boats! and the water! and the...water! This place have their own traditional outfit that differs to the one in Marken. We had some rolls for lunch. I don't see the point in visiting Marken, it's just a deserted island on the artificial lake. The houses on Marken are built on stiles and artificial hills, to avoid flood.
Back to Amsterdam city, we were shown around, took pictures at one of the five oldest windmills in Amsterdam and it was actually spinning on that day. Even the tourist guide said she's only seen it spinning three times her whole life. I thought that was kinda funny ! Last stop to diamond factory, how they polish diamonds. I've worn 1600 euros worth of diamond ring!!! That's highlight of the day! ! It was dark, we missed the canal ride so we walked off to Red Light District, it was scary so we turned back. Walked to monument and dutch christmas market. Then had grand dinner at Argentinos, ate grilled salmon.

A trip to Madurodam, A day in Den Haag
Today, after 'stuffing' session of the included breakfast at the hostel, we went off on the train to The Hague (Den Haag), where Madurodam is situated. The nice bits about Madurodam is it has miniature of all the attractions in Netherlands! It was awesome, the miniature country made with care to every single teeny weeny details-the cars, people, buildings with all the people inside it. It was like a playland for a big child (like me wink wink), the joy! I cannot put into words ! Hehe, and I shud hav stayed on the main path and gone in between the buildings hehe (Kids, do not try this at home). Then we went back to Den Haag Central Station area, hopped on the train back and had dinner in Amsterdam-chicken kebab and pizza. It was okay (lar) but utility rate...low.

Arrival in Amsterdam
Fiuuh, we thought we arrived earlier than scheduled when actually the local time in Netherlands is actually an hour faster! It was dark earlier than we expected, clueless thankfully not alone, searched our way from Schipol (which I pronounce as Skipol but Epul insisted as Sheepol, u decide, I like SKIPOL better), anyway to the Inner Amsterdam, the hostel we booked (the crappiest one I would mention here, it was under construction so imagine the dust, the noise and just the construction workers). Later the night, walked about the lonely area and had a MAJOR welcome dinner at this Indonesian restaurant (apparently lots of these restaurants here), 18 Indonesian dishes that included serunding, gado gado, satay wid this really thick-peanut-sauce-that-tasted-like-peanut-butter-but-not-exactly-in-the-same-shade-of-brown, in one go with lychee sorbet, GAWD, walked back home HEAVY ! There was this Gebakkaraam stall in the area of Concert Hall, very near to where we lived, think I tried this appelflappen while Epul had his oliebollen. I suppose these are their specialities kot.
